Privacy Policy

Your Privacy is Important to Us

Marin Covenant Church recognizes that your privacy is important. This privacy policy explains how we collect and use personal information.

How We Collect Personal Information

Marin Covenant Church collects your personal information only when you knowingly provide it by submitting forms to the church, registering for church activities, or participating in the Online Community. The information we collect may include sensitive information that is relevant to your participation in the church, like health information or information about your beliefs.

How We Use Personal Information

Marin Covenant Church uses your personal information for the following purposes:
  • To establish and maintain your involvement with the church.
  • To provide you with general information about the church and its ministries.
  • To provide products or services that you request from the church.
  • To register you for activities in which you choose to participate.
  • To contact you in case of emergency.

Access to Your Information

The following individuals may have access to your personal information:
  • Pastors
  • Leadership Team
  • Administrative Staff
  • Leaders of groups in which your family participates, such as Sunday Formation Electives, Bible Studies, and Alpha.

A few of our church ministries, like MOPS and Men's Fraternity, involve partnerships with third-party organizations. If you participate in one of these ministries, we may, with your permission, provide your personal information to the third party.

The church maintains an online directory with photos, names, addresses, and phone numbers, along with any other information you provide in your profile. A printed version of the directory is published and updated periodically. You can view and update your personal information in the church's database through the Online Community or by contacting the church office. The online directory is never made visible to the general public, only to those who are part of the church community. After logging into the Online Community, you can set preferences that control the specific levels of privacy you want for the different types of information contained in your profile. You can make some information visible only to church leaders, some only to leaders and people you designate as "friends", some only to leaders, friends and groups in which you participate, and some information visible to the entire church community.

Security

Marin Covenant Church takes reasonable steps to keep your personal information accurate and secure. We store most information in the church office and on the Online Community's secure server. Registration cards for specific activities may be held by the leaders of those activities.

Point of Contact

If you have questions about our Privacy Policy, or if you believe that Marin Covenant Church has misused your personal information, please contact our church office. We will work quickly to answer questions and resolve problems.
