Ongoing Opportunities:
WatchDOGS … Dads Of Great Students
Students need a father/male figure for one day a year to volunteer at the school. Arrives before school to greet students when they arrive. Gets assigned a student; has picture taken. Is active throughout the day classroom(s), lunch, playground, etc.

Peaceful Programs … bringing peace to the campus
Need: Volunteers who will be present and engaged during student gatherings such as breakfast, lunch, playground and other organized activities.
Read Naturally … individual tutoring/listening
Need: Anyone who is articulate in English to provide one-on-one opportunity for student to be tutored in their reading skills. Need volunteers for once a week with specific children. Training provided.
Math Tutoring … individual tutoring
Need: Anyone who is good and comfortable in mathematics to provide one-on-one opportunity for student to be tutored in developing their math skills. Need volunteers for once a week with specific children. Training required.
Classroom Helpers … coming alongside classroom teaching team
Need: Classroom goals are to facilitate the teachers being as available for student needs as possible; that creates an opportunity for volunteers to do clerical/”go-for” tasks for the teachers and for an adult presence in the room.
Breakfast and Lunch Helpers …helping to manage meals and students.
Need: A major need is to provide opportunities for up to 50% of these children to receive nutritious meals – to start the day and for lunch.
Planting Projects … helping the students bring beauty and organic food to the campus.
Need: Volunteers to help create, plant and maintain gardens throughout the campus. This provides not only for the development of pride in what they can do but in the beauty of their campus.
ESL … helping parents to be able to understand, read and write.
Need: Volunteers to help in/create an evening

March 20th Work Day from 8am-Noon
1. Pull weeds in
2. Plant 30 or so plants in
3. Plant 3-6 new trees, 15 gal or larger, which means digging some pretty big holes.
4. Weed whack around bike racks and possibly a couple other areas (depending on equipment and volunteers).
5. Pull weeds in K building planter box.
6. Pull weeds in
7. Pull weeds around front entry.
8. Plant spring flowers in barrels in various locations.
What to bring:
Gloves, hoes, shovels, rakes, picks and pry-bars, weed-whackers ... ibuprofen!
