Fun and interesting facts about yourself: Tim was born and raised in Japan, more comfortable preaching and teaching in Japanese than in English. Katie was raised in Novato and a member of Marin Covenant Church since 1969. Going to Japan at age 22 was the first time she ever traveled out of the US! We have five amazing adult children.

Ongoing prayer request: Healing for Tim’s neuromuscular back condition which causes chronic pain, and limits activities.

That we both would shine for Jesus in all that He leads us to do and in all our interactions with people He brings across our paths.

Short Description of your ministry:

~ Tim is Director of Family Forum Japan – an organization that uses family issues as a medium for sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ around Japan, through publications, radio, the internet, and seminars and lectures. Apart from administrative functions, Tim does a lot of teaching and writing.

~ Katie is coordinating outreach to international high school students who come from all over the world to attend the International School of Asia in Karuizawa (ISAK). This involves a weekly Bible study, planning outreach activities, and discipline and counseling students.

~ Tim and Katie together coordinate community outreach activities in the town of Karuizawa, largely centered around the Karuizawa Union Church, a historic church built-in 1906.

~ Tim and Katie assist in the ministry of two local churches (outside Karuizawa) Shinshu Community Church in the neighboring town, and Iiyama Bible Center about 90 minutes to the northwest, and a church we helped start back in the 1990s.
