Rivas is a small city situated between Lake Nicaragua and the Pacific Ocean. The economy is based mainly on tourism, cattle ranching and agriculture.  Although Anna was born and raised in Rivas, her life was changed after she ventured into a part of her hometown she had never seen before: The city dump, where she discovered that people lived and worked from scavenging. After witnessing what was happening in the dump, God had called her to serve that community, where she founded Bethel Center of Hope.
